Central Beach
Right below the Sea Garden, the city beach runs for well over a kilometre of dark-gold sand that literally sparkles — it's rich in tiny magnetite grains that glitter in the sun. Beach bars, volleyball nets and loungers appear with the warm weather; entry to the sand is free, and you only pay if you want an umbrella set.
During Eurovision week this will be the simplest magic trick in town: leave the noise, cross the park, and be barefoot in the sea in five minutes.
Follow the coast north
The northern sands
Past the pier, the beach keeps going — wider, wilder and quieter with every step, running towards the salt pans of Atanasovsko Lake. This is the stretch for long walks, morning runs and finding a patch of sand with nobody on it even in high season.
It's also where the city's sunrise cult gathers: the east-facing shore means the sun climbs straight out of the sea in front of you.
